It all started when…
Arwen Cayton roamed the hills of upstate New York, making her way through the thick woods of the Catskills. Her imagination was set into a whirl wind playing with the critters she loved. Arwen is a self-taught artist in many mediums, but has found her passion in woodburning, bringing to life her whimsical and magical creations. Using local wood artist creations as her canvas, she dips into her magical mind, telling a story that is hidden in the grain of the wood. Arwen is also known for her sculptures and paintings, which share in the same magical stories as her wood burning. She now calls Woodlawn VA in the Appalachian Mountains her home. Her roots run deep with her family in these mountains and is shown in her folklore like tales in her art.
